Why do I need to use floss gloss?
There are a number of reasons why you may want to use floss gloss. The most common reason for use is to allow a smoothing of the fibres in your thread or yearn. This reduces the number of knots and snags whilst you are stitching or sewing. 
 
Another reason for using floss gloss is that it creates a really smooth finish to your project and willl eliminate those little 'bobbles' of fluff you can find in your work. 
 
How do I use it?
Simply unscrew the lid and put your thread on the wax with a finger or thumb on top. Gently pull the thread through so that it covers the thread in a thin coating of the scented wax. Finally, smooth the wax around the thread by running it between a finger and thumb, applying an even coverage to the thread. 
 
Top Tip
Don't try to smother the thread with wax as this can alter the colour of the threads. A gentle, thin coating should be adequate to allow your threads to run smoothly through the frabric. 
 
Floss gloss can be really helpful when you are using tricky to use threads such as metallics. Although it won't make it feel like you are using your usual stranded cottons, it will ease the snagging and hopefully make the process a little less stressful. 
 
All of our floss gloss uses a vegan blend of Soya wax which we believe gives a lovely smooth finish to your thread. You shouldn't find any staining or discolourationn, however, we do recommend that you apply a small sample to any fabric and thread or yarn you are using before you commit to using it in your projects.
